Pluto has fascinated astronomers, and the general public, since its discovery in the 1930s. A few years ago it was demoted from being the ninth major planet in our solar system to what is called a dwarf planet. Pluto's been thought to be a big roundish chunk of dirty snow and ice. But is it? In this show we’ll learn about Pluto’s history from its discovery through to date. We'll show and discuss close-up images of many surface features on Pluto and its major satellite Charon as photographed by the New Horizons space craft.
