Moira Roth, who has written extensively on Faith Ringgold, as well as traveled with her to France and Morocco, will present a “picture” of Ringgold in her many roles as artist, activist, writer and performer.
Moira Roth is an art historian, writer and playwright with a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Since 1985 she has taught at Mills College, where she holds the Trefethen Chair of Art History--previously she taught in the University of California system: U.C. Irvine (1970-1972), U.C. Santa Cruz (1973-1974) and U.C. San Diego (1974-1985). Since the early 1970s she has been involved in feminism and U.S. performance history, and from the 1980s onward, she has worked increasingly cross-culturally, and internationally.
