2016 is the hundredth anniversary of Jack London’s death. Jack London State Historic Park will pay a special tribute to one of the world’s best known American writers. A memorial will be held at Jack London State Historic Park on Saturday, November 19. Jack London died of kidney failure on November 22, 1916. In his short life he accomplished much, not only as a writer of fifty books, but also as an adventurer, reporter, war correspondent, sports article writer, and innovative farmer. He was in the process of developing a model ranch, destined to be the finest in California, when he died. He would have wished farming to be his true legacy, far beyond writing.
